Why career pages instead of job boards?
Job boards are polluted. The same role syndicated five times, ghost postings that closed months ago, "jobs" that are really a recruiting firm fishing for resumes. Every one of those wastes a call.
A company's own career page is the source of truth. If a role is listed there, the company itself published it and is actively trying to fill it. The Job Finder goes only there, so every line in your scan is a real opening from a real employer:
- No fake jobs: if it's on the company's site, the company is hiring.
- No duplicates or triplicates: one company, one listing, no syndication noise.
- No recruiter jobs: you'll never call a posting only to reach a competitor.
What does a scan look like?
This is a real weekly scan (a Thursday run for a data-center construction desk), lightly trimmed:
How can I search?
Pretty much any way you want, as often as you want:
- By company list: give it your twenty target companies and watch only them: every job, jobs over a comp floor, jobs matching a title, or a whole function like engineering, administration, or accounting.
- By industry and title: the most common setup. "All the plant manager jobs in the food industry nationwide, posted in the last 30 days." "Every project manager, estimator, and superintendent role in data-center construction."
- By geography: one city, one state, or several states at once.
- By recency: only roles posted inside your window, so you're always calling on fresh openings.
How often does it run?
Your call. Most recruiters run a weekly morning scan: walk into the office, the week's openings in your niche are waiting. If your market moves fast (nursing in Denver, say), run it daily so nothing gets stale before you see it.
What's a BD signal?
When one company shows two or more openings in your niche, the scan flags it at the top. A company hiring for multiple roles at once isn't posting jobs. It's straining. Its own pipeline can't keep up. That flag is your next client call, served with the evidence already attached.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the jobs come from?
Company career pages, scraped directly. Never LinkedIn, never Indeed, never ZipRecruiter.
Can I run more than one scan?
Yes. Different niches, different schedules. A weekly scan for your core desk and a daily one for a hot market can run side by side.
How do results arrive?
In your #job-finder Slack channel, grouped by company with headcount, each role linked to the original posting on the company's site.
Can it filter by compensation?
Yes. Set a comp floor and it only surfaces roles above it, when the posting publishes compensation.
